Dance, drink and a digital detox

Dance, drink and a digital detox

What will you do today to fill your soul cup up?

If you're stuck on inspo, here is a few ideas.

Turn your phone off for the day.

Have you ever thought about how freeing it would be to put your phone away for the day?  No need to check in with what others are doing, or saying about your latest post.  Instead, spend the day being present with your loves and the things you love.  Spend time in nature or reading, chat with friends, play with the kids, or even catch up on your favourite movies with only one screen.

Did you know the average person checks their phone 110 times a day and spends 23 days per year staring at their small screen?!  What crazy statistics!  With these numbers, we could absolutely benefit from putting it down for the day, and re-connecting with our hearts, our thoughts and feelings, and real human life.

Dance like no-one is watching.

How good is a dance party in your own home!?  Dance to get the heart rate up, raise your energy, laugh, have fun, play with the kids, just move.

Choose your favourite playlist and turn the music up.  Dancing has a unique way of taking your cares away.  It frees you up to be in the moment, and research has shown it increases your happiness.  As well as being great for your mental health, it is a good cardio workout, is gentle on the body (perhaps depending on your dance moves), and anyone can do it.  Go on; what's stopping you.

Drink a big glass of water (or 8!)

Water.  The simplest, healthiest, cheapest, and most attainable step to better health.  Water provides a vast array of benefits, some of these are:

  • better energy
  • better complexion
  • flushing out toxins
  • boosting the immune system
  • preventing headaches, cramps & sprains

If you don't like the taste of water, try adding a few drops of lemon juice or use a drop of lemon essential oil.
