What is an affirmation?

What is an affirmation?

This is a habit that we all have, or have experienced during some season of our lives.  A pattern that doesn't make us feel good but sneaks up in our life every day.

Talking to ourselves in a negative narrative.  Saying words to ourselves, that we wouldn't say to our best friends.

'I am tired, I am a bad mum, I could do better, I am unworthy, I am fat, I am not good enough, I wish I could be more like her, Why do I bother, No-one likes me, I am too short, I look stupid.'

Know what I mean?  Have you said these to yourself recently?  It's not good is it?  But, the great news is that we can change these thoughts around in our minds with I Am affirmations. Turn your thoughts from creating fear, doubt, defeat, anxiety; into creating positivity, happiness, and uplifting thoughts that drive us forward; not leave us standing still.

How we can do this is with I Am affirmations - heard of them?

I feel like lots of us have heard about these affirmations, and probably know how effective they can be, but putting them into practice is a different story.

I Am affirmations are simple, so easy to implement, quick; plus effective and powerful.

I Am affirmations are merely bringing the way we speak, into reality.  Using I Am affirmations is like sharing a story about ourselves.  We are choosing who we are!  So why not chose the best damn version of ourselves.

Creating I Am affirmations is one of the most natural tricks in the book! Start your sentence with I Am and then add on how you would like to feel and what you would like to create into your reality; what you would like to be, do and have.   Yes, it is that simple.  There are a few tips to making them effective.  Firstly, create positive thoughts and statements and direct your energy into the good we see about ourselves.

For these little affirmations of love to be a total game-changer in your life, you need to speak them daily.

Stand in front of a mirror and look yourself in the eye.  And then, repeat them out loud whenever you can during the day.  You can also write them out if that feels more aligned for you.  Write them several times during the day and sit in the feeling of how that statement makes you feel as if it was already your reality.

Feel like a fraud saying these things that you don't yet believe?  That is part of the power of the I Am affirmations.  The effectiveness is in the repetitiveness.  Speaking your personal statements over and over will raise your awareness, keep the thought at the front of your mind and train yourself into these new beliefs.

A belief is a thought that we repeat over and over. This works the same if it's negative or positive.  Before long our subconscious mind will take over and these beliefs will become reality.  Repeat your positive I Am statements daily and these few little words will make you feel inspired, awesome, and empowered.
