Finding happiness...

Finding happiness... easier said than done?  Maybe it's not easy, but finding more happiness in your life can be simple.  Happiness is a state of mind.  It's something that everyone wants to achieve. But how do you find it?  How do you bring more into your life? It's certainly not something that can be bought or gained easily. But it is possible.  It is possible for all of us, you and me.  Any maybe, probably, everything is not going to change overnight or in an instant.  But if you focus on the little things, the little steps, I believe you can find more happiness.

Here are 10 ways that you can find a little more happiness today:

  1. Practice gratitude: Be thankful for the things you have, the people in your life, and the experiences you've had. Focusing on what you have rather than what you lack can help you feel happier and more content.

  2. Fall in love with self-care: Take time for yourself to relax, recharge, and do things that make you feel good. Maybe it's a bubble bath or going for a walk outside, practicing self-care can help you feel happier and more balanced.

  3. Let it go: Not just a Frozen song, letting go of things that no longer serve you, whether it's negative thoughts, toxic relationships, or unhealthy habits, all allow you to free your mind space and reduce feelings of stress. Learning to let go can free you from emotional baggage and allow you to move forward with greater happiness and clarity.

  4. Embrace change: Change is a natural part of life, and embracing it can help you find happiness and fulfillment. Take the first step, take the leap and give things a go; trusting that it will work out or you will learn along the way.  Maybe it's a new job, moving to a new city, or trying a new hobby, embracing change can open up new opportunities for growth and happiness.

  5. Focus on relationships: Surround yourself with people who make you smile, who light you up and support you. Invest time and energy into creating meaningful relationships with family, friends, and colleagues.  

  6. Spend more time doing activities that you love: Pursue hobbies and interests that make you feel happy and fulfilled. Maybe it's creative, exercise, or helping others, engaging in activities that you enjoy can help you find happiness.

  7. Make health a priority: Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and get lots of sleep! Taking care of your physical health can improve your mood and energy levels, which can lead to greater happiness.

  8. Create a mindfulness practice: Be present in the moment, find magic in the everyday moments and focus on the small things.  Stay aware of your thoughts and emotions. Mindfulness can help you reduce stress and anxiety, and increase feelings of happiness and well-being.

  9. Help others: Volunteering, donating to charity, or simply doing something kind for someone else can help you feel happier and more fulfilled.

  10. Set goals and dream big: Identify what you want to achieve, where you want to go, who you want to be; and work towards it. Setting and achieving dreams can give you a sense of purpose and accomplishment, which can lead to greater happiness.

Finding happiness is a journey that requires you to be intentional, to make it a priority and often, to put yourself first.  Add a gratitude, self-love and mindfulness practice to your day.   Cultivate beautiful relationships, spend time with people that cheer you on.  Take part in activities that you love and don't be afraid to dream big; and chase those dreams.
